Meishi Hoisin sauce is a thick, fragrant sauce commonly used in Cantonese cuisine as a glaze for meat, an addition to stir fry, or as dipping sauce. It is darkly-coloured in appearance and sweet and salty in taste. Although regional variants exist, hoisin sauce usually includes soybeans, fennel, red chili peppers, and garlic. Vinegar, five-spice powder and sugar are also commonly added. The word hoisin is derived from a shortening of the Chinese words for "seafood sauce", although the sauce does not contain any seafood ingredients and is not commonly consumed with seafood. The reason for the name is "seafood flavour", a common adjective in Chinese cuisine, especially Sichuanese. The key ingredient of hoisin sauce is fermented soybean paste. Hoisin sauce can be used as a marinade sauce for meat such as char siu. Hoisin sauce can be used as a dipping sauce for steamed or panfried rice noodle roll. In Vietnamese, hoisin sauce is called tương đen. It is a popular condiment for phở, a Vietnamese noodle soup, in southern Vietnam. The sauce can be directly added into a bowl of phở at the table, or it can be used as a dip for the meat of phở dishes. In phở, hoisin is typically accompanied by Sriracha sauce.
Meishi hoisin sauce is also used to make a dipping sauce for Vietnamese spring roll and other similar dishes. In cooking, it can be used for glazing broiled chicken.

Bring authentic Asian flavor to just about any meal from any culture. In North America, any dish made with a teriyaki-like sauce is described using the word teriyaki. This often even includes those using foreign alternatives to sake or mirin. The sauce used for teriyaki is generally sweet, although it can also be spicy. Grilling meat first and pouring the sauce on afterwards or using sweet sauce as a marinade are other non-traditional methods of cooking teriyaki. Teriyaki sauce is sometimes put on chicken wings or used as a dipping sauce. In the city of Seattle, Washington, a large teriyaki culture emerged in the 1990s. As of 2010, there were over 83 restaurants in the city with "teriyaki" in their name. It has been described as the city's signature cuisine by some outlets, noting its widespread adoption as a form of fast food. Used for preparing grilled seafood or other types of meat, the most popular of the whole cooking process is the teriyaki glaze or teriyaki sauce which is used to give the meat its unique flavor. This sauce is popular all around the world with its dark, bold, savory-salty-sweet-spicy flavor with lots of umami undertones. Its primary ingredients include soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, chilli and mirin. The main ingredients for the heat in this spicy teriyaki sauce is red pepper flake. Use to choose your preference. This spice punch is an additional ingredient, hence adjusting the heat level will not affect the core taste of this Japanese style sauce. The word teriyaki refers to both a Japanese cooking technique as well as to the sauce. This spicy Teriyaki sauce is versatile. When is sauce added to the main ingredient makes it all together like a whole new dish? Like if this sauce added to chicken or mushroom or beef or tofu or cauliflower or paneer. It becomes teriyaki chicken, teriyaki, mushroom, teriyaki, tofu, etc. Teriyaki sauce pairs well with meats such as fish, chicken, beef, and pork. When used as a dipping sauce, teriyaki sauce flavors chicken wings, dumplings, shrimp, and steak. Stir-fries, rice dishes, and vegetables use teriyaki sauce for additional flavor.

Meishi takes you on a journey through the Orient by bringing you authentic ingredients for use in your traditional recipes. Experience a new range of products with Meishi. Bring authentic Asian flavor to just about any meal from any culture. Soy sauce is a liquid made from soybeans, wheat, water and salt. Broadly speaking, it falls into two camps: naturally brewed or fermented, and chemically produced. Our Meishi Soy sauce is naturally brewed from wheat, soybeans, water and salt, a process that takes months, allowing its rich, complex and mellow flavour to develop. Brewed (or "naturally brewed") soy sauce is made from a special fermentation process. Typically, roasted soybeans and wheat grain are combined in a multistep procedure with water, salt and natural mold and bacteria "starters" (which work in much the same way in the making of yogurt and sourdough bread) Fermentation is an important part of the process and the longer the soy sauce ferments, the deeper the resulting flavour becomes. Brewers can take months or even years to produce a batch of high-quality soy sauce. Unlike natural shoyu, commercial soy sauce tastes harsh, salty and one-dimensional. In contrast, the best quality naturally fermented shoyu not only contributes its own rich flavor to foods, but also harmonizes the flavors of the different ingredients present in any given dish. It is the perfect sauce for cooking or as a table-top seasoning. It's also suitable for all kinds of dishes. Try our Meishi Naturally Brewed Soy Sauce with your favourites burgers and salads. This unique condiment adds a mellow flavour and a rich umami quality to all kinds of foods. Ideal for soups, salad, vegetable sauces and oriental cooking.
Instruction for use: Simply add a few drops to all dishes to improve instantly the flavor of your foods.
